Terees Western is not only a passionate perfumer but also a dedicated fragrance educator and vintage fragrance collector with a noble nose.
Since childhood, Terees has possessed an acute sense of smell and taste. Encounters with flavors, fragrances, spices, and herbs have always delighted her mind and mood. These super sensory traits evolved into a lifelong fascination, pursuit, and study of perfumery and culinary pleasures.
As the creator of the title and the first Scent Docent™ worldwide, Terees offers insightful talks, provides unique sensory experiences, and crafts fine fragrances using botanicals sourced from around the globe.
Certified by the Fragrance Foundation with an honors level professional fragrance specialist qualification, along with an MBA from Pennsylvania State University and a BA from the University of Michigan, Terees possesses extensive knowledge about scent history, the fragrance industry, perfumery ingredients, fragrance consumers, scent culture, and international business strategy.
Before diving into her passion for perfume, Terees was an accomplished Global Corporate Communications and Human Resources Executive in the automotive and luxury goods industries.

Deeply inspired by the sentiment of scent cultivated from her Alabama family heritage and Detroit childhood, Terees now serves as a fragrance educator, infusing her love of nature, the arts, and global culture with her flair for communications to help others understand the splendor of scent.
As a knowledgeable perfumer and a thoughtful, engaging speaker, Terees boasts an abundance of expertise in botanicals, scent culture, and olfaction. She has been interviewed by The Institute for Art & Olfaction, NPR Michigan, and the podcast An Aromatic Life. Her insights have been featured in magazines such as Perfumer & Flavorist, ÇaFleureBon, and Black Beauty & Hair. Additionally, Terees was an inaugural guest on California's Perfume on the Radio program and participated as a panelist for the 2021 digital Scent Festival, solidifying her role as a prominent scent docent.
